NORTH BRITISH 33 YEARS OLD – MORISCO SPIRITS – 43.2%
A North British 1991 is the fourth object to be preserved in our WUNDERKAMMER. Element IV It is a nostalgic, unusual and mysterious object, the child of a bygone era. Aged 33 years in a Refill bourbon barrel Sherry (cask no. #204407), this whisky was bottled at the full strength of 43.2%. Unchill filtered and without added colouring, it is available in just 160 bottles.
ELEMENT III
CAOL ILA 13 YEARS OLD – MORISCO SPIRITS – 57.3%
A Caol Ila 2011 is the third item to keep in our WUNDERKAMMER. Element III It is a sublime, elegant and exclusive gem. Matured for 13 years in a first fill Oloroso Sherry (cask no. #58211), this whisky was bottled at the full strength of 57.3%. Unchill filtered and uncoloured, it is available in 307 bottles.
NB As soon as it was emptied we put another Islay whisky in this barrel to mature, but we will talk about that again in a couple of years.
ELEMENT II
GLENBURGIE 9 YEARS OLD – MORISCO SPIRITS – 52,6%
A Glenburgie 2015 is the second item to keep in our WUNDERKAMMER. Element II It is a magnetic, seductive and emblematic treasure. Aged 9 years in a first fill Oloroso Sherry (cask no. #22063008), this whisky was bottled at 52.6%. Unchill filtered and uncoloured, it is available in 172 bottles.
NB This barrel was so lively that as soon as we emptied it we immediately refilled it with another whisky… But we will talk about that next year.
ELEMENT I
HD 9 YEARS OLD – MORISCO SPIRITS – 54.5%
About 500 years ago, the 'chambers of wonders' (wunderkammer) were spaces within a residence designed to collect objects of all kinds; these not only had an educational function, but were stunning and of different shapes, materials and origins. Naturalia. Artificialia. Scientific. Exhotica. In the past, in every place in the world, man instinctively tried to possess objects to please himself and make his memory eternal. This is our Wunderkammer, a place to preserve and enjoy a series of extraordinary objects. Elements that can be exemplary.
STILLNESS #3
LEDAIG 10 YEARS OLD – MORISCO SPIRITS – 54,8%
A peated Single Malt Scotch Whiskey from the Tobermory distillery, on the wonderful Isle of Mull. Matured in an ex-bourbon barrel, it was bottled at 54.8%. Not cold filtered and without the addition of colorants, available in only 120 bottles.
The label features a still of an aerial view of Oban, where ferries depart for the Isle of Mull.
STILLNESS #2
WILLIAMSON 12 YEARS OLD – MORISCO SPIRITS – 54,2%
An Islay Single Malt Scotch Whiskey first matured in an ex-bourbon cask and then aged in a refill Sherry butt. Bottled at the grade of 54.2%. Not cold filtered and without the addition of colourings, available in only 150 bottles.
The label shows a photo of the back of the distillery being bottled… Guess which one? It starts with L and ends with… G!
STILLNESS #1
LONGMORN 15 YEARS OLD – MORISCO SPIRITS – 54,2%
N.01 is the first bottling of Stillness: a concept inspired by the polysemy of the word STILL. It's a frame, taken on analog during our last trip to Scotland, it's an introspective moment of peace and serenity, it's an alembic, where form becomes substance.
