Aberargie Inaugural Release is the first release from Aberargie Distillery. A single malt Scotch whisky that marks the Morrison family's return to distilling after more than 30 years. The distillery is located on the border between the Highlands and Lowlands regions of Scotland. Produced "farm to bottle" on the 300-acre farm in Perthshire, it is made from home-grown Golden Promise (52%) and Laureate (48%) barley. Matured in first-fill ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, bottled at 48.2%, without chill filtration or added colouring.
The bottle design includes a leather collar celebrating the release. A deep green horizon line runs across the label and packaging, with gold details echoing the surrounding fields. As an independent family business, Aberargie manages every stage of production in-house: from growing the barley to distilling, from warehousing to bottling. The Morrison family previously ran several distilleries in Scotland (primarily Auchentoshan and Bowmore) before exiting the industry in the early 1990s. The return of Aberargie marks a new chapter in their legacy in the world of whisky.
Nose: Rich and fruity, with hints of apple pie and cinnamon.
