An Islay 12 is a single malt peaty Scotch whiskey selected by Hannah Whiskey Merchants from an undeclared distillery on Islay. It was distilled in October 2009 and matured in three oloroso sherry refill casks before being bottled at 12 years in July 2022. Paying homage to the bottler's house, Dalgety Bay, a quantity of limited of 722 bottles at the degree of 51.8%.
Hannah has always been a whiskey aficionado, inspired by her father's whiskey collection. In 2012, aged 27, he founded Hannah Whiskey Merchants Ltd and has since bottled over 25 unique casks.
Nose: Spicy with notes of bonfire and baked pastry.
Palate: Baked apples and cinnamon with notes of sweet smoke and cigar box.
Finish: Green apple peel and burnt cinnamon.
