A 26 year old Ben Nevis selected by Andrew Symington of Signatory Vintage for Velier's 70th anniversary. Coming from a single barrel ex-sherry butt (#1507), this whiskey was distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2016 at the full degree of 60.5%. Only 644 bottles on the market.
Nose: Intense and pungent, with smoky tones and notes of cherries in alcohol and tobacco.
Palate: A light peat that accompanies hints of fruit in syrup and spices.
Final: Persistent with sweet and smoky notes.
