A 12 year old Glenallachie from the Wood Finish Range series. A whiskey matured for 10 years in American Oak Barrels and then transferred to Ruby Port barrels. Not artificially colored and not cold filtered, bottled at the grade of 48%.
In 2017 the distillery was bought by Billy Walker. Unlike in the past, where most of the single malt production ended up in blended, with the arrival of the new master distiller, now almost all of the production is placed on the market as single malt.
Nose: Grape must, molasses, banana and ginger.
Palate: Delicious with hints of heather honey, caramel, grape must and orange peel.
Final: Medium persistent with spicy notes.
