Glenallachie 50th anniversary is one of three bottlings in the series to celebrate Billy Walker's 50th anniversary in the industry, whose approach to wood selection and management has given the distillery an edge. The Future Edition is made from St Fergus' Speyside peat, and has four years of maturation: a young and gritty spirit has matured in a mix of ex-bourbon and rye barrels, as well as a quantity of virgin oak. Bottled at 60.2% it is a limited edition of 10,000 bottles.
Nose: Rich and full of sprint with notes of dried fruit, burnt wood, dark chocolate and cinnamon baked apples.
Palate: Lashes of cinnamon and pear tart, with hints of toasted almonds, heather honey and pipe tobacco. Smoked barley and toffee follow.
Final: Moderately persistent and intense.
Availability limited to one bottle per customer. Any multiple orders will be canceled.
