Killowen Native Irish Botanical Gin was created to celebrate the territory around the distillery. Seasonal and strictly local botanicals are hand-picked and then stored throughout the year, including wild angelica root, mint, meadowsweet, fuchsia, elderberry flowers and berries. A wonderful mix of maritime and herbaceous botanicals, makes this excellent Irish Craft Gin perfect to be enjoyed in a Gin Tonic with a small sprig of mint.
Killowen is a place where traditional methods and the best natural resources have been combined to produce artisanal distillates of the highest class. Brendan Carty, an Irish architect passionate about whiskey, decides to devote himself entirely to distillation in 2016, when the construction of the micro distillery begins, followed and partly carried out personally using mostly recycled materials. His approach is authentically artisanal: in addition to selecting different varieties of cereals in order to explore the different aromatic potentials as much as possible, he works in total autonomy, doing everything by hand and without any production process being automated or standardized. Nose: A subtle maritime influence is flanked by fragrant elderflower and floral notes of meadow, with a beautiful balsamic freshness.
Palate: Full-bodied, with refreshing mint, sweet berry and pungent juniper. Still a slight flavor.
Final: Long and fresh.
